Scholarships for Continuing Students
The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers a number of scholarships to advanced students. These include:

  • Distinguished Professor scholarships

  • John Edwards scholarships

  • Lila Ewers scholarships

  • Robert Gecsy scholarships

  • Darrell O. Huwe scholarships

  • C. Paul and Beth K. Stocker scholarships

    Selection is based on academic performance at Ohio University, which preference being given to those who are receiving less financial aid from the university. Awards range from $500 up to full tuition.

    One application form is sufficient for all of these scholarships (except for the Shipman scholarships, which are awarded separately to entering freshmen). An application form can be obtained from the Department Administrator or from the Scholarship Committee Chair. They should be returned before February 1 to the Scholarship Committee Chair.
