$300 and a scholarship to study Physics
and Astronomy at OU (approx. $1500)

3rd Prize

All 11th and 12th grade students in Ohio are eligible to compete however they must register with the link below by Noon on November 2. (see details below) The contest will be approximately one hour long and will test the student's knowledge of physics at the level of an introductory, algebra-based physics course. The exam will stress conceptual knowledge of physics and physical sciences. A past exam can be found here.

The same day the Department of Physics and Astronomy will be hosting a Community Open House, with a whole host of activities including Interactive Demos, Physics Shows, Posters, and Tours geared towards the whole family! There will also be talks on Careers in Physics and Astronomy and Scholarship and Financial Aid Opportunities. See the accompanying web site for more details.
