The Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics was established at Ohio University in 1991 to bring coherence to the several successful but diverse nuclear science activities taking place within the department. The institute is a perfect vehicle for sponsoring joint seminars, inviting visiting scientists, providing matching money for new initiatives with federal funding agencies and national laboratories, and generally promoting and supporting research in these fields
