The World Year of Physics 2005 is an international celebration of Physics. This year long event is sanctioned by the United Nations and will include
activities all over the world recognizing the role of Physics in our history, current lifestyles and future developments. The World Year of Physics 2005
will commemorate Albert Einstein and the 100th year anniversary of three of his most important papers (on light quanta, Brownian motion and the
special theory of relativity). Einstein changed the way we look at Physics, and therefore the theme for 2005 is Einstein in the 21st Century.
The Ohio University Department of Physics and Astronomy will be sponsoring events throughout 2005 to celebrate physics and its role in
the 21st century.
