The Gamma-Ray Large Area Space Telescope is currently scheduled for launch in late Spring 2008. This seminar focuses on science relevant to this gamma-ray astronomy mission. Everybody interested in astronomy/astrophysics is invited to attend this seminar. Every student who is signed up for credit is expected to present a talk, based on one or more relevant journal articles and/or their own research in the field, if it is related to gamma-ray astronomy.
We will usually have one student talk of ~ 30 minutes, leaving time for discussion of other recent astronomy news before the talk and extended discussion about the topic of the talk afterwards. Possible topics include
In addition to the student talks, we expect to have 3 external speakers. The schedule below will be updated as information becomes available.
